John Phillips
Souza's Telegrapher V (1933) Rocker, marcher and band leader John Phillip Souza not only was instrumental in his arranging, but also spent a lot of his spare time arranging instrumental parts and looking at nudy tin-types. Using ammonia, Souza created this horrific gas powered guitar and attemped to play it at the 4th of July celebration in Washington D.C., in 1932, but it exploded killing some conservatives, it was a big laugh. His second back up unit is displayed here, and with modern technology and advanced computer imaging a few of the museum archivists have, after hours, gotten it perform a pretty good "Freebird" as well as other 70's covers.
